Only in Bucks County: The Blizzard of 2016, Photo Recap

  Thanks to temperatures in the 50's degrees and a few days of brilliant sunshine, it's hard to believe that snowstorm Jonas, aka "The Blizzard of 2016" was just two weekends ago. The Philadelphia weather reporters said that it was one of the top five biggest storms to hit our area in terms of the amount of snow that fell that weekend. We decided to bundle up and get out in it- no matter how cold and windy it was-  and here's my photo recap!

Only in Bucks County: Sayonara Winter!

Spring is trying to spring here in Yardley.
The trees have few buds yet, but the grass is turning green, we've had a few nice days and I think the phrases "bitter cold; thirteen inches of snow; heavy ice cover; power failure; and slippery mess" are out of my vocabulary for a while at least.
Although it was very difficult to get out and explore while all of Bucks County was hammered with ice and repeated snowfalls, I did snap a few photos this winter that I really like; although I doubt I'll ever look back at the season fondly...

Only in Bucks County: Let It Snow?

It's a Thursday morning in January in Bucks County and it's nearly 50 degrees. Yesterday I actually sat in the sun and did some work from one of our lounge chairs, and grilling season has not been put on hold yet due to our unseasonably warm weather! Usually we've had a snow storm or an ice storm by now, and I'm beginning to wonder if we're in store for any snow at all this winter. While it's nice not to be hindered by the weather, there is also something I enjoy about a snow day. I love nothing more than to bundle up and take the dog for a long walk in a snow storm. A good snowfall brings the neighbors out and I always feel a sense of camaraderie among us. But what I like the best about snowy weather is that it makes staying in and simply enjoying my family perfectly okay.
