Only in Bucks County: Cloak and Wand!

Cloak and Wand is a fantastic new shop in Peddlers Village, Bucks County for lovers of Harry Potter, Witches and Wizardry, Magic, Dungeons and Dragons... even Halloween.

A friend and I visited Cloak and Wand on a Thursday in late August, and basically had the store to ourselves. I am certain it gets crowded on weekends because it is a really cool space!

We were pleasantly surprised that in the front half of the store you can sidle up to the bar and order hand crafted potions. I don't typically "drink" my calories, but I ordered a Wizard Beer... a delicious cold concoction of butterscotch, vanilla and English toffee, topped with Griffin whipped cream and sparkled with fairy dust. This drink was so delicious that I thought about it for DAYS afterwards, and it was reasonably priced for a Large. Wizard Beer also provides you with protection from Dark Magic!

We spent a good hour browsing and shopping. There was so much to see, and things were set up and displayed so elaborately, that I felt like I was somewhere truly magical. Some of the displays were creepy and scary, while others were humorous or whimsical. I’ve never been drawn to "other worlds" in my reading habits, but this store, a tribute to wizardry, fairies and fantasy worlds, had a lot of fun stuff to look at, and we each wound up purchasing a few things.

Harry Potter fans!
In the back of the store they sell handmade wands, all so unique and beautiful.
It makes perfect sense that you can choose IT, or it can choose YOU.

THIS CREEPY HOLOGRAM NOT ONLY LOOKED LIKE ME, BUT WAS TAUNTING ME!

Besides all the Harry Potter merchandise, there are plenty of items for lovers of  Stranger Things, Hocus-Pocus, Dungeons and Dragons, Little Shop of Horrors, and more. They had a great selection of books, journals and stationery. << As the song goes... "These are a few of my favorite things!"

"Kids" of all ages (this means YOU) will have fun shopping at  Cloak and Wand, and whether it's a cold drink in summer or a hot beverage in winter, don't forget to order your magic potion!

Cloak and Wand is located at 67 Peddlers Village in Lahaska, Bucks County, PA.
We are so lucky to have this special shop close by!
For reference, the shop is in the Upper Village Green, fairly close to the Gazebo and the Water Wheel.

Only in Bucks County: Rebels and Redcoats Car Show

My beautifully dressed Mom in one of my Dad's hobby cars; a 1965 Fiat.
Notice the Rolls Royce passing by!

As part of its Independence Day celebration, Washington Crossing Historic Park invites classic car owners to compete in the third Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show on Sunday July 3, 2022, from 10 AM to 2 PM. If you don't happen to have a classic car to enter, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND checking out this show!

The Rebels & Redcoats Classic Car Show features only American, British, French, and German cars, representing the four countries involved in the Revolutionary War. In fact, the show is set up as a square in a large, shaded parking lot, with autos from each country taking up one side of the square.
The cars were really different than all of the other shows I've attended in Bucks County, and I appreciated the American + European theme.  Plus, they were in tiptop, mint condition! Seeing them all evoked great memories from my childhood. You see, my father was a car buff as well as an Anglophile, (lover of all things British) when I was growing up. He owned a series of 1960's and 1970's Jaguars that he tinkered around with and took out for Sunday drives. He instilled in me at a very young age the notion that Rolls Royces are the cream of the crop of the automobile industry, and it was always so very exciting to see one in passing when we were out driving around! My Dad also introduced me to Triumphs, MGs and many of the French and German auto brands before I was even six years old, so it was really cool seeing these cars from my childhood all in one place.

The photos above are from the 2018 Rebels and Redcoats Car Show. We went back again this year for the 2022 Show, and I was amazed at the growth. There were so many more wonderful cars to see.
Here were this year's favorites, guess I'm a British car lover too!

Look for info on The Rebels and Redcoats Classic Car Show at Washington Crossing Historic Park on the park's website. It typically takes place the Saturday or Sunday of the Fourth of July Weekend.

I loved going with him on Sunday drives!
